Jui Hwa Lin Guiness work record-Highest temperature in wood-fired Kiln

In the summer of 2016, Jui Hwa Lin, the second-generation owner of ZHU-NAN Snake Kiln, took on the challenge to achieve the Guinness World RecordsTM honor for the "Highest temperature in a wood-fired kiln." The challenge involved the presence of three independent witnesses from Taiwan: Professor Liu Zhenzhou from National Taiwan University of Arts, Dr. Guo Huangcun from the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and Professor Xiao Guangzhi from the Department of Physics at Fu Jen Catholic University. The professional temperature measurement team from Songqi Industrial Company provided advanced high-temperature thermocouples for continuous monitoring.

On June 18, 2016, Jui Hwa Lin successfully reached a temperature of 1563°C, setting the world record for the highest temperature ever recorded in a wood-fired kiln and surpassing his personal best of 1555°C. The event was officially certified and awarded by the Guinness World Records official, John Garland, bringing great pride to Taiwan for this historic achievement!

The significance of achieving such a high temperature in wood firing lies in Jui Hwa's endeavor to demonstrate to the world that wood-fired pottery, when operated correctly, is not only environmentally friendly and energy-saving with minimal smoke pollution but also capable of displaying a diverse range of natural textures without the need for glazing. Moreover, this method significantly reduces the environmental impact of clay mining and metal processing. The environmentally friendly wood firing holds numerous benefits for human life, offering vast unexplored possibilities and pointing towards a new direction for "Future Ceramics" for humanity.
